carols guest house

Carol's guest house.

The Algarve - Portugal.   Hosts - Joe and Carol.    (JULY 2016)

The nearest airport is Faro. You will need a hire car. You can have a pleasant time without a car ( and some people have)  but one will make life so much easier and enhance your stay. From the airport it is about 110km/1 hour and 15 minutes. (68 miles) I use the coordinates provided to navigate my way. They got me to within 200m of my destination, taking me passed the last turn but the written instruction emailed to you will make it clear which turn to take. There are automated sensor tolls on the motorway so no need to stop and pay cash. The hire company will have a system for you to pay this. I took note of the prices on the return journey and it came to 5.35 Euros. I arrive/departed on a Sunday and I did not encounter any traffic. The same was true for the rest of the week in the local area.

My room was basic but clean ( as was everywhere )  I had somewhere to sleep and to hang my clothes. ( What else do you need from a bedroom on holiday ) There was a guest area with table/ chairs, kettle, fridge/freezer, sink etc but apart from the kettle I did not use this area. There are 3 bedrooms sharing 2 bathrooms so if a room is vacant you effectively have your own. 3 of the 4 side of the house have benches/chair to sit on and there is a small sun deck on the roof of the one story building which is large enough to accommodate all the guests and it has good views. The main garden is accessed by the back (main) door and has tables and chairs. The whole house is surrounded by a high bush for privacy but there are no building for hundreds of meters in any direction. You can only see the structures if you are on the sun deck.

The house is within walking distance of a nude beach.  I walked back from the beach in 30 minutes at a steady pace up hill with no bag........ but in the heat, with a bag ........make life easy, take the car. It's only takes 2 minutes. The beach is as good as any I visited that week. Within a 20 minute walk you will reach the cliffs edge for some nice views and walks to beaches ( nude and non nude) Most of the beaches I saw had rocks and cliff entering the sea at each end which make then ideal for snorkeling.  There are a few shops about 4 minutes drive away and anther couple of minutes passed that you will come to a village/small town with a Lidl supermarket and a petrol station. Within 30 minutes drive there are plenty of sightseeing opportunities. ( of course there will be more if you drive longer) To get to the larger town of Lagos  ( 30 minutes) you will pass the small town of luz where you can have massage on the non nude beach and you will pass at least 4 nude beaches. There are forts, light houses, trekking trails, cliff top views/walks , villages and of course beaches, beaches and more beaches. More than enough to fill a week or more. Every where I went I did not have to pay for parking except Lagos but that was only 2 Euro's for 3 hours.

The breakfast consists of cereal, juice,  fruit, yoghurt and  toast with jam/marmalade or egg. (made how you want it) Lunch tended to be a sandwich which the hosts would prepare for you in the morning if you wanted to sightseeing or go to the beach all day. Dinner was excellent and very well prepared. I had salmon and swordfish (which is now my favourite fish) on 2 of the nights and they just melted in my mouth and the mash potatoes .......I have never tasted better. Although not a vegetarian I stay away from meat (except fish) I did not tell the host this until I arrived as I usually eat the same as everyone else but without the meat. That night they made a fish dish and the next day they went out and stocked up on vegetarian meal/alternative and then they proceeded to prepare separate meal for me on most of the nights. Each day they disgust with the other guest and myself their meal plans. If we did not eat a certain food they would alter their plans or cook a  alternative. So if you have a dietary need, let them know and they will accommodate you. Drink could be obtained at your leisure at any time of the day either by the host offering or helping yourself from the guest fridge/kettle or the fridge outside in the seating area next to the back door. (alcaholic and non-alcaholic)

This is not a hotel/apartment complex, it is like staying in a friends house .......because it is someone house. I/we used their living room, ate in their kitchen. ( we could have eaten in the garden if we so desired )  Even though it is someone home I did not feel restricted or uneasy. ( which I usually would)  I could have happily slouched on their sofa scratching my goolies whilst picking the fluff out of my belly button (if I had been wearing clothes to make the fluff) Carol and Joe are very friendly. They will endeavour to make your stay a pleasant one. Although not needed I expect you would have use of a iron, needle and thread , glue etc everything you would need for an emergency that a hotel might not have. They have all the information you will need on how to find the beaches/towns and the touristy things to do. They have wifi. They also have a couple of cats and a dog but there is no pet smell and they are no problem but be aware ...........the dog will "allow" you to play with 24 hours a day.

The 2 draw backs (for me) are

A :-  I like to be near a town that is in walking distance so I can take a stroll at night. As I would normally only do this once or twice a week and I would be in an apartment on my own this is not a biggie. ( and it would only a short drive if I really wanted a town at night)

B :-  No swimming pool.........but one is on it's way.  Well not so much a swimming pool but (for want of a better phrase) an adult paddling pool. It will be large enough to accommodate all guests and hosts at the same time and deep enough (when sitting) to cover your shoulders. Not a swimming pool but with a drink in hand, on a hot day.....very welcome.

If you are after a resort feel with the night-life that goes with it......this is not for you. If you want a friendly, relaxing, no hassle, no cooking, lying on the beach with  little effort/ no stress sight seeing holiday you will be hard pushed to do better than here.

Relax and let it all hang out........literally.

EAGLE PEAK

SEPTEMBER 2016

Costa tropical - Spain.

Eagle peak is about 85 km/ 1 hour from Malaga airport.  It is straight forward  to get from the airport. Just head for Almunecar. All you need is the directions for the final  turn/ last 200 meters. I have never encountered any heavy traffic all the time I have been in that area.

The complex has 6 apartments ranging from studio to 2 bedroom (all self catering ). The apartment are clean and well maintained. They are more than sufficient for your holiday needs. Each apartment has a patio type area. ( some are private) All are well equipped with kettles, microwave, small ovens etc. You will find other equipment like sun umbrellas in the wardrobe but  if you need something that is not provided Peter ( your host) will do his up most to sort it out.    There is a roof terrace, gym, pool, jacuzzi, petanque court + more.  The gyms equipment, whilst not the heavy duty public gym  standard is more than adequate  for a good workout.  I used it twice until I realised I was on holiday and it was hot. The pool whilst not a full size one ( 10 meters(ish)) is more than enough for a swim and to relax on an inflatable. There are plenty of sun bed in the pool area. The jacuzzi is a 4 seat design. It is in the clubhouse so ideal in any weather. The club house has a t.v. , books, magazines, dvd, games, tea and coffee etc. There is a garden that you can pick the fruit from the trees.

Eagle peak is about 10 minutes walk from a nude beach, 10 minutes walk from the shops/supermarket and a  25 minute pleasant walk to the main town. The nude beach is a decent size. It is made up of fine pebbles. It is discrete  but it has no facilities. ( you are only a short drive from 2 other nude beaches that have restaurants. One of which you can dine nude) The town is a decent size with all the shop, supermarkets, restaurants and bars you will need. It has a castle you can visit (very cheap) and a vantage point you can ascend that juts out from the beach.

Once at Eagle peak you will not need a car if all you  want is to relax in the sun. Everything you will need is at the complex or in the town but the surrounding area is well worth a look. There are plenty of nude beaches, small towns, caves,  hill villages etc to explore so a car would be useful.

Whilst at Eagle peak  you can go out in their inflatable motorised boat/dingy. (weather permitting) You will be taken up in to the hill for a 4wd safari and a swim. You may also have live music on one of the evening.  (dependant on the number of guests)

At eagle peak you can interact with the other guests as much or as little as you wish. There have been times when I have hardly seen some guests as they go off and do their own thing and keep them selves to them selves and other time when  I have spent most evening with the other guest by going out for meals as a group,  Invited to meal at their apartments, Going in the jacuzzi, and just sitting around talking to each other late into the night. There are also time when we have fun like body painting etc. It is purely up to you how much you wish to interact.

Peter (and Liz) will bend over backwards to accommodate you. He has all the knowledge  of the town and the surrounding area.  He will make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

I have been to Eagle peak 3 time in total. It would be more but for the fact that I like to go places that I have not been to before. Eagle peak was my first foray into public nudity and could have been my last if it had not gone well ( it was only supposed to be a one off to experience a nude resort/beach) but I enjoyed being naked in the sun and the venue so mush I carried on frequenting nude resorts. Eagle peak is ideal for your first time tentative step into the world of communal nakedness but also ideal for the harden veterans.

I  wholeheartedly recommend Eagle peak.

Casa Patricia

October 2016

rural Andalucia

Casa Patricia is about 30 miles (48 km) from Malaga airport.   Pat or Ken (your hosts) will pick you up from the airport or from the train station in Alora if you are not hiring a car.

At Casa Patricia there are 4 en-suite rooms that are well furnished , including T.V. , air conditioning , fridge, bath robes etc. They are a clean and are of a good standard . Do not expect a hotel style feel to the rest of the area ( main house ,pool area) You are free to walk though the kitchen and living room of the main house but this is someones home so you will see pots and pans in the sink ( it is a working kitchen after all) and like most homes a bit of clutter here and there but over all it is clean and tidy. It actually puts you more at ease as you feel more like you are staying with friend rather than in a sterile hotel/resort. The pool is a decent size and there is a separate jacuzzi. There are plenty of sun loungers, chairs (including a  swing chair and hammock) and sun umbrellas. There is a day bed in a small room off to the side of the pool ( very nice for the shade.) They do have a few dogs but they are no problem and you can take them for a walk in the morning if you wish. You can walk around naked 24 hours a day in every part of the "resort".

All food and drink is included. There will be a knock on your door in the morning with coffee waiting on the table outside your room. Breakfast is a buffet style affair with a decent selection. You can have something cooked if you wish. (and if you get up early enough.) Lunch is also buffet style but most of time I have attended  there has been something hot i.e. rice, pasta etc as well. Dinner is another matter completely. Ken used to be a chef and it shows.  The food is fabulous. (forget about your diet ) One night he presented us with a curry........then another..........then another........then some meat.......then a different type of meat. 3 different types of curries and a selection of meats in one night plus all the veg and potato's  and not forgetting the dessert. I don't think we had less than 3 choices of meat each night. (and it was the good stuff.....no cheap off cuts here.) Ken will cater for the vegetarians amongst us. It is a help yourself bar all day and night. Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and coffee plus ices creams etc.

The town of Alora is only five minutes away by car. Ken  goes to a bar for an hour or 2 before dinner with some of the guests on some nights. The town is not very big but has plenty of shops and a castle you can visit on top of the hill. (with free parking) You can get a train from there to Malaga and other sightseeing destinations. (free parking)  Most of the guests I have encountered tend to stay around the pool all day and  read / sunbathe but some guests do go out for day trips by car/ train. It was taking me about an hour ( leisurely driving) to get to the nearest nude beach, which is a bit of a pain but if you are going for the day is not to bad but you will of course miss lunch.( grrrrrrrrr)  Other destinations are from an hour  to 2 hours drive away. ( I don't know if the train is quicker.) There is a gorge (Caminito del Rey) that is bit nearer (40 minutes (ish)) and  is well worth a visit but you will need a car for that. Benalnatura beach is the nearest nude beach. ( I don't know of any nearer) It a small beach and it can get pact. There is free road parking near by.

For me this is an excellent  add on to a coastal holiday. I  do all my snorkelling etc at a resort/ hotel by the sea and then have a few days at Casa Patricia doing almost nothing (apart from eating) but I have encountered a whole range of guest  usage. Some guest do as I do , A few days then move on to some where else, other spend a week and do nothing, whilst others stay a week and go sightseeing most days. Casa Patricia is a one size fits all holiday.

I have stayed twice at Casa Patricia, once for a full week and then for 3 days as an "add on" and hope to stay again next time I am in the Malaga area.

50% of the people I met there were repeat guests. Some had returned to Casa Patricia on multiple occasions, so they must be doing something right.

I recommend Casa Patricia.  ( but be sure to study their  site and make sure it's the type of venue you would be happy staying at ! )

Update for 2018 :-

For 2018 they have reduced their price by £10 per night and they have  made a slight change to their  meal plan. They quote on their website :-

"we making a few changes to our format  so we can go on providing great naturist holiday for the next few years  ,dinner will be the same but we are asking you to get your own breakfast and lunch and clean up after , you will not need to go shopping all you need will be at the villa and in the price you pay , it will only be a bit of input from you each day "

Vera Playa club hotel

July 2017
Vera Playa - Spain.

Vera playa club hotel  is a hotel, apartment complex and resort all in one. It is approximately 53 miles (85 km) from Almeria airport. There is limited parking at the hotel at 15€ per night but I have a suspicion that they do not enforce this. On the approach road directly outside the hotel there are short stay parking bays but once again I do not think that the time limit is enforced. Two minutes walk in either direction there are plenty of free (no restriction) parking bays.

There are plenty of choices when comes to accommodation.  There are the normal hotel rooms, rooms/apartments with kitchen(ette)  all the way up to suits with private swimming pools. Most rooms/apartments face inwards onto the swimming pool area but a small number lead directly onto the beech.   I went for the standard hotel room with tv, balcony, small fridge ( no freezer), ceiling fan (no air-con) and a big round bath in the en suite bathroom. The room was clean ( cleaned every day) as was the hotel and it's grounds. In the hotel there are vending machine, ice machine, gift shop (limited hours) and an all day bar.

You can opt for room only all the way up to full board. I went for bed and breakfast. Your room card key is also your pass to the dinning area and I believe you can use it at the bar etc as credit card and pay the total when you check out. If you have opted for limited meals ( room only/ b and b for example) I am sure that you can use your card for to credit you room with extra meal if and when you feel like dinning at the hotel. The breakfast was excellent. A large buffet selection and also a chef that would cook you eggs, bacon etc to order and a second chef that catered for the waffles and alike. There is plenty of seating  inside and out.

The resort has a large swimming pool with 2 slides and a 12 person jacuzzi. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols. ( but enough parasols to cover all the loungers) There are events organised though out the day , games, dancing , sport etc and a "kids" club so you can dispose of the kids for the day. There is an indoor pool that is advertised as "close in summer" but it was open when I was there.(July) There is entertainment each evening on the stage by the pool. Karaoke, live music etc.  The resort leads straight on to the beach but it never seemed to get crowed as it was situated at the end of the Vera playa naturist zone and also most guests stayed by the pool. A short walk and you quickly get to the busier part of the beach . There are bars and restaurants on the beach and on the streets of the naturist zones. ( you can walk nude though out said streets)  You can get a nude massage (back, shoulders  and legs only) on the beach as well as full nude massage back at the resort.

Directly outside the hotel entrance there are restaurants, a clothes shop,  convenience store and a shop selling holiday "stuff" most of which you can visit naked. (at least during the day) There are also 3 swingers clubs. ( all of which seemed deserted as I walked past 367 times !!!!!!!!!!!) There is a large supermarket  within walking distance ( + other shops) all of which are non nude.

The local area seems overall a bit bland. The town of Garrucha is about 3.7 miles (6 km) away. It is worth a visit. You can walk along the beach to get to it and I think there is a road train that goes there from outside the entrance of the hotel. ( I only saw it in the evening.) The old town of  Vera is about 5 miles (8 km) inland and seems quite quaint. I am only going of photo's as I completely forgot to visit it. Almeria is just over an hour away at a leisurely drive. Almeria is well worth a day trip. The highlight is the castle and its free.

Vera Playa club hotel is the only naturist hotel that I know of that you can walk around completely naked in all areas  (apart from the restaurant.) You are able to walk naked from the front entrance onto the street and to the local shops and other areas of the naturist zones as well, of course the rear entrance to the beach. Unfortunately at 8 pm the hotel areas become non nude. I do not think applies to the pool area as I did witness a hand full of people still nude after that time and of course this does not apply to your room, balcony, patio area of your ground floor room/apartment and indoor pool. Whilst the hotel staff would remain dressed the entertainment staff would regularly strip off even at time during the kids club.

I only reason I stayed at the Vera playa club hotel was because  the apartment I intended to stay at in another part of the naturist zone was already booked. It was a reasonable price (especially for July) and I had not stayed at a nude hotel before so I thought I would give it a try and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

I would recommend the Vera playa club hotel for singles, couples and families.

GLEN EDEN.

November 2014
California USA

Glen Eden sun club is about 68 miles (43 km ) inland from Los Angeles airport. The accommodation comes in the form of chalet, large and medium caravans (trailer/mobile homes) that have been made static, R.V. parking ( full/part service) and camping pitches. (no services) They have a large outdoor swimming pool and a decent size indoor pool, large outdoor jacuzzi, sauna, a number of tennis courts, a volley ball court , basket ball court, petanque court, gym, laundry facilities, function hall, cafe, dump station, plenty of restrooms and showers plus many more facilities. The over all feel is that the whole stet up was clean and tidy including the accommodation and well run. On the two occasions I have visited Glen Eden ( one time camping and the other using one of their trailers) there was a decent number of people attending the club especially of course at the weekend. The staff ( who are all naturists themselves) and the guests came across as very friendly and helpful as it is a membered owned, non profit  club and most the people there know each other. ( you don't need to be a member to holiday there or for a day visit)  There is a mixture of people who live there and those who just come at the weekend. The clubs grounds are a reasonable size with different small gardens you can explore. You are able to hike in the surrounding area/hills. Prior to my last visit (2014) you were able to hike, in the main, naked (as the area was deserted ) but houses were in the process of being built in the nearby area and I have since found out when I enquired  via e-mail "As far as the hiking trails go, you are required to be clothed for the most part of the trail due to the housing on the opposite side of the hill." but the phase "for the most part" may imply that you are able to nude up in certain uninhabited  sections.   Activities are organised throughout the week, usually sports but including other delights such as Texas hold'em and the obligatory karaoke.

Less than a mile away on the main road you will reach a shopping area. This includes fast food, restaurants, banks, pharmacy, supermarket, petrol station etc. Just passed that ( 3 minutes from Glen Eden) is the junction to the freeway (interstate 15) that takes you directly to Las Vegas (254 miles/ 406 km) or in the opposite direction San Diego (85 miles/ 136 km) and San Diego is well worth at least a day trip. Between 60 to 75 miles (96 and 120 km) are all parts of L.A. but the traffic getting there at certain times can be horrendous. At 8 miles, 9.5 miles and 12.5 miles (13,15,20 km) on interstate 15, junction 78,77, and 73 (towards San Diego ) there is an outlet retail park  and 2 shopping centres/areas (not malls) plus numerous others further along and in the other direction. The town of Corona is only 13 miles (21 km) away.

Glen Eden is ideal to use as a base whilst you explore the surrounding  area. You are in within easy driving distance from recreation areas, lakes, forests, mountains and national park. Some are as close as half an hours drive away, while a 2 hour drive will get you to most of the scenic view points in the area, for example  Joshua Tree national park. You are also only 45 miles (72 km) from the sea/ beaches.

Glen Eden is a very pleasant place to stay either to get that all over tan and to socialise and/or to discover the beauty of the surrounding area.

I thoroughly recommend Glen Eden and I intent to stay at there each time I visit Las Vegas, L.A. or San Diego.

CHAN RESORT

PATTAYA - THAILAND
MARCH 2017

From Bangkok airport take the 389 bus  ( 120 thb - £2.70, 3.10 euro, $3.65 ) to the last stop. It runs every hour and the journey is 2 hours. From the bus station walk up the hill until you come to a junction with a cluster of signs, one of which is for the Chan resort and turn down that road and walk until you arrive at the resort. It is 1.3km { 0.8 miles) and takes about 15 minutes to walk.

On entering  the premises you will be in the pool and breakfast area were you will  find the reception desk but as it is not continuously manned  you may have to go and find a member of staff. Be aware that they do not take credit cards so any remainder of the bill will have to be paid in cash or paypal.

The rooms are clean and of a good standard and a decent size. The bathrooms are basic and  have showers but no bath.  There will be a fridge, tv, toiletries, bath robe but no in room safe or tea/coffee making facilities. There is however tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, fruit, biscuits ( cookies ) etc in the dinning area 24 hours a day. There are 8 rooms on the first floor ( no lift/ elevator) and 5 rooms on the ground floor which you can step over the patio wall straight onto the pool area.  The pool area is well maintained with a decent sized pool which is nicely lit at night. There is also an in pool Jacuzzi. Sun loungers and parasols are available but if the resort is full they may be in short supply but there is possibly more in storage as I was there when it was quiet. They allow guests ( but not sex workers) and I believe they do day visits but It would be best to confirm this with the resort. The breakfast cooked is satisfactory but it served to you ( not buffet style ) and it may not sufficient if you have a big appetite.  The staff are very friendly and pleasant. They will remained dressed at all times. You can order a massage in your room but you will have to book this in advance ( I don't know how much notice you have to give) as I believe it is an off site masseuse. The resort itself is not very big, the footprint off the rooms, the pool and the dinning area is all there is apart from the kitchen and owners living area which are off limits to guests. Although small I did not find it to be cramp but I was there when it was slack and I spent the majority of the time away from the resort sightseeing.

There are plenty of places to eat, shop and to get a massage within walking distance from the Chan resort. You are only 1.8 km (1.1 mile) from the main street in the local town centre and 2 km (1.25 miles ) from the beach.( all the beaches in the area are not nude or topless)  As you walk to the beach you will pass plenty of shops and restaurants, a market and a sight seeing tower. Chan resort is only 2.5 km (1.55 miles ) from Pattaya town ( walking street ) and the beach. If you do not want to walk the 25 minutes or so to Pattaya ( or anywhere else ) just walk the 500 metres ( 0.3 miles ) to the main road where there will be 2 or 3 motorbike taxi's waiting for your custom or you can catch a "Songthaews" or "Baht bus."  ( Google how to use them ) I walked everywhere during my stay, day and night and I felt safe at all times. There is also so a nightwatchman on duty at the resort.

Overall the Chan resort is a clean well maintained friendly place. There is not much to occupy  oneself  unless all you wish to do is swim and sunbath. I expect when it is busier you will be more able to interact with the other guests. It makes a good place to use as a base if you wish to explore the surrounding areas as I did. Although not a expensive compared to resorts/ rooms in Europe it is 2 or 3 times the price of a similar room you will be able to get in Pattaya town but you are paying a premium for  being able to walk around naked in a very non nude country.

ALMANAT.

2007.

Costa del Sol - Spain

Almanat is straight forward 50 km ( 31 miles ) drive from Malaga airport. For the approach road just look for a cross road with a bus stop either side and an old round brick tower in the field. There is a FKK sign but it is set back and could be easily missed if not paying attention. As you drive down the road the reception will right in front of you. The resort has different standards of bungalows and pitches with and without electric hook-ups for caravans/ motorhome and tents. The bungalow/chalet I rented was the cheapest but it was perfectly adequate for my needs and was clean and tidy. ( but this review is from over 10 years ago. ) They have added new chalets since I was last there some of which have roof top balconies/sun areas.  The resort leads straight onto the public black sand beach so you can stay naked on your trip to the sea. As you go through the gate you will walk past a beach restaurant that you can dine at nude but in the evening it "clothes on." There is another restaurant a little further along " Almayrate" beach but no nakedness here. The town of Torre del Mar is only a five minute drive away or a 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) walk along the beach. There you will find all the shop and eating establishments you will need. The town itself I found very bland and uninteresting. There is a large supermarket on the E15/ A-7 motorway turn off ( 272 ) for Torre del Mar. ( 5 km from Almanat,)

Facilities at the resort include a large unheated outdoor swimming pool,  a smaller indoor heated pool ( not open all year ), snack bar, Solarium, Barbeque Area, Petanca-lawn bowling, kid play area, mini golf, basketball, table tennis, football pitch, volleyball, exercise park, Café Lounge, small supermarket and sauna. There is a ( pay ) car park that your guests and members of the pubic who wish to go to the beach can use. They can strip off in the car park and use their cars as a locker.  ( but there is plenty of free parking nearby and in the town.) If you drive out of the car park you have to pay again to re-enter.  This resort/ campsite will suit families and persons who prefer a less hectic holiday as the night life will be more sedate. It would make a good base to explore the surrounding area and you are only about 40 minutes from Malaga.

Cap d'agde

Southwest France
June 2018
cap-d-agde-fkk-naturisme5.jpg
cap-d-agde-fkk-naturisme3.jpg

The nearest airport is Beziers - Cap d'agde airport which is 16 km ( 10 miles ) from Cap d'agde.  The only flights to the airport are from London, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Parish, Stockholm and Dusseldorf and they are not every day. You can hire a car at the airport  or there is a shuttle bus that will take you to Agde train station ( 1.60 euros ) where you can get a bus ( route 4 ) the entrance of the resort. ( last stop. ) 1 euro. Other airports are Perpignan 120 km, Montpellier 85km, Toulouse 220 km and Marseille 215 km.

On arrival to the resort there will be offices on your right  ( shop on your left ) for the booking agents, AGN, Recid, etc where you check in. ( depending how you booked ) Then you walk around the corner to buy an entrance pass to the resort. I paid 18 euros for a week. I think that  covers 2 people and a car. You are able to buy a day pass if you are not staying at the resort. Drive up to the automatic barrier and swipe your pass to gain entrance. You are now in naked mecca.

All the different types off accommodation have secure parking, either a garage, individual parking spaces or a dedicated car park which you will need a key or a fob to access. There are free general car parks and  road side parking but these can get scarce, especially at night and weekends. The parking can be a bit tight, in the resort and the surrounding towns and villages so taking the extra car hire insurance may be wise. ( I purchase a separate annual car hire excess insurance that covers me for one year for about  the same cost  of a week if I got it from the hire company.)

There all types of accommodation available. Blocks of apartments. detached apartments, boats, hotels, R.V./ caravan spaces and camping pitches. The are 3 main blocks of apartment Port Nature, Hepiopolis and Port Ambonne is where you will find all the shops, restaurants etc. There are numerous places to dine from fine  restaurants to pizza places. There is at least one convenience store in each of the main blocks. You will also find clothes shops, bank, ATM's, post office, hairdressers, ice cream parlous, dry cleaners, launderettes, off licence ( alcohol sales) , Souvenir shops, bakery, fruit and veg stores, shops selling beach  paraphernalia, camping equipment i.e. bottled gas and many more, all of which you may remain naked throughout.  You will not need to go off site for anything. If you wish to go to a bigger supermarket/grocery store there are plenty in the area. The nearest I know of is Lidl but go to the second nearest ( Agde 4.8km) as it is a far larger than the nearest Lidl.

There is a vast array of apartments, not to mention hotels, boats and camping. Some of the apartments are small with a bed settee whilst other are big multi bedroom places. It is best to pay a little extra and get an apartment with a proper bed and air conditioning. I rented a cheap apartment that was very basic. The balcony was a decent size but is was a similar size as the living room. The kitchen was part of the hallway and consisted of a sink and a 2 ring cooker but no work space. The microwave was on top of the fridge in the living room. â€‹The shower entrance was about 30cm wide so you had to enter sideways. As a single guy it did fulfil its role, somewhere to put my bag and to sleep. I paid approximately  70 euros a night but directly below me was a couple I got to know that paid 100 euros a night and their was at least three time the size, they had a proper bed, bigger ( proper ) kitchen  and it was very well decorated. I would recommend you pay the extra for a superior apartment. Cap D'agde apartments are expensive compared to comparable apartment in places like Spain so do your research and stay away from July / August for a cheaper time. For cheaper meals and shopping go off site to the local area.

There are many bars, restaurant and " adult themed" night clubs to choose from. The clubs are from 10pm to 2am every night so make sure your apartment has air conditioning so you are able to close your balcony doors to keep the noise out if are residing  in close proximity.

There are 3 swimming pools that I am aware of but these are all enclosed and you have to pay to enter. I had a pass that was included with my apartment that was valid for the duration of my stay which allow me to use one of the pool areas but I did make use of it. You may or may not get one your apartment. The nude beach is about 1km long and is sandy and clean. If you wade out 30 meters or so  into the sea you will only be knee deep and 50 meters you will only be waist deep.  There are a few bars ( They may sell food, I did not check.)  on the beach and â€‹a couple of guys selling ice creams and ice lollies from a cart. There was a lady doing beach massages using a proper massage table and under a gazebo but I only spotted her on my very last walk around before I left for the airport so I have no details.( she may only work at weekends .) The massage's in the hair dressers and parlours I found to be expensive.

The surrounding area is pleasant. There is a small port, Le Saint Marten that is only 3km( 1.9 miles ) away it has the usual shops and restaurants plus a amusement and water park. The town of Agde is only about 6km ( 3.75 miles ) and is worth a visit. It is a small town which will take you less than an hour to walk round and see everything.  Beziers is 30km ( 19 miles ) away. It has a nice cathedral and canal. Again it is only small and a couple of hour will be enough time to sight see. Other destinations include Montpelier one hours drive, Narbonne one hours drive and Perpignan 1.5 hours drive.

It is said that Cap D'agde has a capacity of 50,000 plus day tripper and it is heaving in august. ( plus expensive) The over all feel of the place is that is a bit dated in its construction but some of the apartments have very modern interiors.

There is a word of warning. This is a very popular destination for swingers. The night clubs are for swingers and there is a swingers beach at the far end that gets packed.  In the evenings you may stumble across a few performing exhibitionists shall we say. You will also see the more erotic style of dress on display. If you go with an open mind and live and let live you will be fine. You will not be hassled by the "adults" if you don't partake.

I recommend Cap D'agde for couples and singles. I do not recommend Cap D'agde for families due to the swinger's element during the evening.

I have added 2 links ( AGN and Recid ) so you check out some of the appartments.

Charco Del Palo

Lanzarote

September 2018

Charco Del Palo is nude village on the island of Lanzarote. The white painted village is a tidy very well maintained collection of holiday apartments and residential properties. There are a couple of restaurants, a bar, massage parlour and a small convenience store. You are permitted to be naked in some of areas, in some of the establishments, some of the time. ( you will have to do some research.)  As for the rest of the village you can be nude everywhere 24/7. There are plenty of apartments of differing  sizes to rent and they are very reasonably  priced. I had a sea front apartment and it was one of the cheapest. I can only speak for mine but the apartment was clean, tidy and well maintained. It was a reasonable size with a decent bathroom. A full size bed, built in wardrobes, seating area, small table/ chairs gives you  all that is needed to be comfortable. It was well kitted out with an electric hob, microwave, fridge/ freezer, all the utensils, plates, pans, cup etc you will need for your stay, kettle, toaster,TV, towels plus more. Outside on the patio I had a table and chairs, parasol and a couple of sun loungers. All apartment ( as far as I know ) have wifi but not always included in the price. Each set of apartments came with its own swimming pool.

The only downside for me is there is no beach. It is all volcanic rocks and cliffs . There is a tidal pool , a natural pier that has a ladder in to the sea and a natural/man made looking pool aka " duck pond " all  there for you to swim in. There is no lighting along the sea front at night but the village is well lit. I recommend that you wear an enclose sandals rather than flip flops along the sea front due to the ease of toe stubbing on the rocks.

Unless you desire  to go to Playa Blanca ( 1 hour ) nothing is more than 30 minutes drive away. Nude beaches, the ferry to La Graciosa, the airport, Arrecifi ( the main town ) castles, villages, cactus garden, vantage point , tourist attractions . Every sighting excursion can be done within half a day. The roads are exceptionally smooth and there is usually little traffic. You will need a car to get about and to travel to Charco Del Palo from the airport. There is public transport but......... Although the town of Arrecifi has a couple of castles and tourist gift shop etc I found it to more of a regular town, still very pleasant and worth a visit. Paces like Costa Teguise, Los Pocillos, Puerto Del Carmen and especially Playa Blanca are more of your Spanish tourist towns.

Lanzarote is volcanic island and make a dramatic back drop for any budding photograph ( as do the castles and villages )

With decent weather all year round, a charming nude village and an island that is easy on the eye , pocket and to transverse, Charco Del Palo make an excellent holiday destination any time of the year.

There are many ways to book an apartment but I went through Nude Lanza. You will get the personal touch and their website has most the information you will need. I suggest you book your car with the company that they recommend as it is as cheap as you will get and it includes FULL insurance.

Charco Del Palo is your more subdued relaxing type of resort/village as it away from any major night life conurbation but a short car journey will alter that for you if you wish. Although saying that I suspect that a holiday in Lanzarote  is favoured by those who prefer the more sedate sun, sea, evening meal type holiday. ( but I wasn't looking for any  "get on down and boogie" hot disco action so what do I know. do you dig it .)

I would recommend Charco Del Palo for couples and singles but have reservations about small children due to the rocky sea front and cliffs. ( But you are only a short drive from a beach. )

FINCA JOHANNA.

Andalucia, Spain.

June 2019

Finca Johanna is a guest house 46 km ( 29 miles ) from Malaga airport. It is straightforward to find and takes about 40 minutes easy driving to get to. The hosts will send directions before hand. You will need a car to get there as it is 8 km ( 5 miles ) from the motorway in the hills and there is no bus. The house is perched on top of a hill that gives you 360° views. The ocean is on one side and the village and mountains on the other.

The house contains 5 themed rooms. My room had a four poster bed with nets  and little traits like packing crates as shelves, bamboo canes suspended by ropes as a clothes rail and random objects as ornaments such as an old tin train , a globe and a doll all bundled together. ( This style  of eclectic objects and furniture was a recurring theme throughout the house. ) This made my stay all the more interesting.  I popped my head around the door of some of the other rooms and they all had unique themes, one of which had a hammock ( as well as a bed ) and a rope chair suspended from the ceiling. Each room was a delight to enter and not just a room to sleep in and store your suitcase. All the rooms are ensuite and have excellent views.

The house  is styled with  a mediterranean theme. The ground floor has a library which contained not surprisingly......... books ,  many of which are in French/ Spanish  but enough in English to keep you occupied.  A number of the non english book are photo book so can still be enjoyed by "us" mono speaking illiterates. There are also a plethora of board game that might take your fancy.  There is a room that I  can only describe as a mediterranean/ Andalusian styled courtyard that is within the property rather than surrounded by  it. A relaxing peaceful area that you can sit in and read when the sun is too hot to be outside. The kitchen has a old country house feel. It is an open working kitchen so you be able to view the "busyness" of everyday life during meal times. Exiting by the back door you will enter the outside area were  tables and chairs are available on which you can eat your breakfast . Adjoining is an area that contains  a larger table and benches that is sometime used for evening meals elfresco. They also advertise a bedouin tent but I did not view this and I neglected to ask about it. It is erected to the rear of the building, up from the alfresco breakfast/ evening meal patio. From the images on their website it looks it looks  something to behold. Also in that vicinity  are 7 bee hives which will be of  interest to nature lovers.

Returning inside and heading for the stairs you will pass through a room full of clothes, such as flamenco dresses and other garb that the hosts and guests sometime dress up in for theme nights and dance the night away.  The second floor is where you find the guest rooms that are situa around a open balcony that looks down on the pre mentioned " mediterranean courtyard."

The third level is the roof patio. This is a large area which contain tables, chairs, 2/3 seater swing seat, settee etc  It is the best area to survey the surrounding scenery. It also contain the jacuzzi which is available 24 hours a day. It will accommodate 6 people and 8 if you don't mind getting cosy.

Exit out of the front door and walk down the driveway and you will come to the large 15 meter swimming pool. There are plenty chairs, double bed type loungers etc. There is also a suspended rope chair and a hammock. ( the hammock is a must ) At the pool you will find the bar. I did not take note of the prices as I don't drink, remiss of me I know. There is also a toilet and shower. Behind the bar is the cottage. It has a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen so you can use this as self catering accommodation. It also has its own BBQ area. On top of the cottage there is another sunroof which may be used by all guests. They also have a vegetable garden and chicken coup that you can visit.  You can socialise with the host and other guest by the pool, jacuzzi etc or if you wish to have solitude you can find many areas  in this multilevel  building that will suffice your needs.

Overall the place is clean and tidy.  It is  well maintained with the odd  cracked or missing tile outside ( which is indicative of Spain.) and the "hustle and bustle" that occurs in a private property of this size. This is not a pristine sanitised hotel, so don't come here expecting such like.  It will make you feel more at home because of that fact.  The guest rooms are very  clean and tidy.

The breakfast ( 8€ ) is a continental style affair. Coffee, ( many) teas, press your own orange juice, cheese, meat, homemade yoghurt, homemade jam, bread, fruit, cooked egg etc.  Enough  to keep you going all day.

Evening meals ( 9€ - 14€ ) are served on some of the evenings ( as a communal meal ) but be warned - it is not served until at least 9:30 pm, which is late even for European standards.

Throughout the day and in the evening when the communal meal is not being served they have a menu that you can ordered from. ( various prices )

A lot of the ingredients are home made/grown or sourced locally.  The vegetables are grown on site and the eggs are fresh from their own chickens. All the meals are optional.

From Finca Johanna you are only 17km ( 10 miles )- 25 minutes away from Almanat nude beach, which has a nude restaurant ( until 9pm and then you have to get your kit on ) that is reasonably priced. If you go to Almanat via the motorway you will pass a large supermarket when exiting the motorway. You can pick up supplies there or when you pass through the town of Torre Del Mar.  You are 34 km ( 21 miles ) - 40 minutes from Malaga. It is worth a visit. The village of Iznate is a 5 minute walk down the hill. I was told that it has a shop and 2 very good restaurants -Bar Tejada and Bar Andalucia . You can walk from one end of the village to the other in less than 10 minutes so if you are short of time you can still pay it a visit which I recommend as it is a pristine white spanish village. You will have a 500 meter walk back from the main road up a very steep hill.  Finca Johanna will make a good base from which you can explore further afield.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays you can get an excellent  massage ( 30€ ) from the delightful Glenda. ( read my Glenda massage review. ) This activity is a must.

Your hosts Johanna and Laurent are a French naturist couple. They speak  fluent French ( obviously ) and Spanish. They also speak very good English. They will do everything they can to make your stay a pleasure. They prepare, grow and make a lot of their own food . They have gone to a lot of trouble to make the guest rooms stand out from the norm. They are both very approachable and friendly.

I especially recommend this place for couples who want to laze about all day or go out exploring the surrounding area. Most of the similar places to this I have frequented have been run by British expats so the clientele tend to be mainly british but Finca Johanna there will be far more French/ Spanish guests. Even though I was on my own this did not bother me ( the fact that I was unable to speak their language, not that they are French/ Spanish. ) as I was away exploring a the majority of the time and the languages barrier did not bother me as trying to communicate can be part of the fun. ( that why I recommend couples, someone to talk to just in case.) But saying that, if you are single don't let this put you off as most people can speak a little English ( if not excellent English ) besides, can you speak French or Spanish .... no ...well stop complaining.

I thoroughly recommend Finca johanns.

COSTA NATURA.

COSTA DEL SOL, SPAIN

JUNE 2019

Costa Natura is a naturist resort west of Malaga. It is one hours drive, 87 km ( 55 miles) from Malaga airport. There are over 100 apartment of various sizes. Some are residential home but the majority are let  for holiday use. After you have checked in at reception you be given a key to your apartment and a key card for the car park. The car park is situated immediately after the entrance gates. You will have to walk to your apartment from there as the whole area is pedestrianised. I suspect the car park may become full at peak time but there are parking spaces outside the complex.

The resort comes across as being very well maintained  All the apartments are painted white and the pathways are line with many colourful plants and bushes which makes the whole complex quite picturesque.

The resort facilities include a 22 metre pool, an enclosed jacuzzi, fitness centre ( although its very small ), restaurant + shop ( I don't know what it sells as I did not go in.), beach bar ( In the resort next to the entrance to the beach, not on the beach.), sauna, a fenced off area for tennis/ volleyball with a table tennis table,  some exterior  exercise equipment and a couple of grass areas with sun loungers. ( bring your own sun umbrellas ) You can check out their website for the opening hours for certain facilities.

The apartments as far as I am aware are privately owned but managed and rented out by the resort. All the apartments of similar size cost the same as the price is set by the resort not the owners. I found the prices to be very reasonable for this standard of resort.

The apartment that I stayed in was one of the smallest/ cheapest that you can rent. It had 2 fixed single sofa beds ( they did not expand ) which you had to make up each night. The living room area had a TV, dvd player, cd/ radio player (there was a selection of dvd's and cd's ) etc.  The small but usable kitchen had a 2 ring electric hob, eletric grill, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and plenty of kitchen utensils.  The bathroom was a usable size with a shower.  There was a patio with table, chairs and a parasol. The apartment had air conditioning. Some of the cupboards were locked as these contained the owner personal items for when they stayed. I suspect that the apartments are equipt by the owners so levels of equipment will differ. You can of coures pay more and get an apartment with a seperate bedroom ( or 2 ) but my apartment would be suffice for 2.

The resort leads straight onto the nude beach. There is a shower at the entrance ( on the beach ) that you can use to wash of the sand before entering the resort. There are 11 grass/ thatched perminant parasols and a number of sunloungers at the resort entrance but I do not know if they are free for guests use or if you have to rent them. The nude beach starts/ ends at one end of the resort ( The narrow  beach end ) and continues for about 300 meters until you reach the life guard post and the beach area opens out. It is a sandy beach.

Estepona is only 4 km away.  I was told by reception that you are able to walk to Estepona via the beach. There is  a large free car park at each end of Estepona. One is at the harbour. ( look for the blue and white Estepona sign with a clock on it. You can not miss it ) and the other is at the far end on your left just before you get to the shopping centre/ mall. Finding a parking space can be difficult in the town centre. Estepona is a small (ish) town but has all the usual parafonalia that goes with a Spanish sea side holiday town. The harbour is a nice spot to eat. There isn't must to see in the way of historical sites. There is a bus stop  outside the resort but I do not have any information on time etc.

Directly opposite Costa Natura is an Aldi supermarket ( grocery store ). You will have to cross the main road if you are walking but there is a foot bridge close by. On the same side as Aldi, all within a 3 minute walk you will find 2 petrol stations ( one with a shop ), Burger king, Mercaona supermarket and what looks like a coffee shop and a bakery/ cafe or restaurant that were both being built at the time I was there but will be open by the time you read this.

Overall  Costa Natura is a very pleasent venue.  If you can get  transfers to the resort and  all you want to do is laze about sunbathing you will get away with not having a car but the resort has no entertaiment and Estepona isn't that big so if you want to do more you will need a car at your disposal.

I recoment the resort for singles, couples and families. ( older children may need a bit more entertainment off site )

MAGNOLIAS NATURA

GRAN CANARIA           JANUARY 2020

Magnolias Natura is a adult only ( meaning no kid, not lifestyle ) nude resort in Maspalomas. It is 35 km ( 22 miles ) and 30 minutes easy driving from the airport. The airport is right next to the motorway, ( Autovias ) literally 100 meters from the entrance of the terminal to the carriageway if you walk in a straight line. The resort is 4 km ( 5 - 10 minutes ) from the motorway. ( juction 46, over 2 roundabouts, left, left then to the end of the road - it's that easy ) There is no parking in the resort but there is street parking  directly outside and there is a free car park 300 metres away.

The entrance is small but is easy to locate. Press the buzzer and wait to to be buzzed in. the reception is immediately on your left.  There are 28 apartments / bungalows all of the same design. I found the accommodation to be a reasonable price, a reasonable size and a reasonable standard. The lounge contained a setee ( with towel to sit on ), coffee table, tv and floor lamp. The kitchen contained a fridge with ice compartment, kettle, filter cofee maker, toaster, table and chairs, 2 ring electric hob, a bottle of washing up liquid, tea towel, dish cloth and a large bottle of water. ( 1 litre I think ) I do not know if the bottle of water is replaced each day as I did not use it. The lounge and kitchen are all one room. The bedroom contained a double bed,  mirror, iron, safe ( charges applie ) and large built in wardrobes. The bathroom was a decent size to move about in. It had a shower, towels and a container of liquid soap. You can get a hair dryer from reception.  The patio had a table and chairs, parasol and a small drying rack attached to the wall.  The apartments has air conditioning and free wi-fi.

The resort is compact. The only communial area is the swimming pool and restaurant.  The swimming is a good size, I'm going to guess 12 - 15 metres. There is a large outdoors jacuzzi and sunloungers and parasols. ( which may be in short supply in peak season ) The area around the pool is relatively narrow, enough space for sunloungers and to walk past them. There is no other open space on the resort. The resaurant/ bar is next to the swimming pool. There you can purchase  drinks, ice creams, snacks and meals. It is open all day and evenings. In the evening the guests seem to dress up and have an evening meal. There are tables outside so you are able to eat al fresco.   I did not use the resaurant but what I could  observed  the meals looked quite appetising. There is a half board/ bed and breakfast options available. There was a table tenis table on the site but the space to play a game was limited.

From the reception you can obtain car hire, bike hire, excursions, post cards and stamps, massage and get your boarding cards printed.

The beach is 3.3km ( 2 miles ) 30 - 40  walk minutes away. Turn right out of the resort ( you can only turn right as it a cul-de- sac ) walk to the golf course and turn left and follow the road, which will turn into a path all the way to the beach. When you get to the beach front  turn left on to the beach and walk to 400 metres to kiosk 4 and that is the start of the nude beach. If you turn right you are immediately at the start of the town/ beach front shops. You can cut 2.1 km off your walk if you take your car along the same route and park up at the dead end ( little car park ) but I suspect that on busy days this will fill up  and you will have to park on the road that will take you nearer the resort and further away from the beach. At this point ( dead end/ little car park ) you can enter the dunes  ( and a camel riding attraction ) and walk across  "country" but this is just as far and you are walking on sand so it is much more hard going. There are paths ( of sorts ) but it can be a bit disorienting. Be warned, stay on the paths ( wooden posts ) as if you stray you may come across some adult activities. There is a free shuttle laid on by the resort to and from the beach (  and another destination ? )  but this is a limited schedule so you cannot go very early or stay late. The beach is a sandy beach with high sandy dunes.

There is a medium sized  supermarket 500 metres away on the same road as the resort.  There is a small shopping centre 2 km away which you pass on your way to the resort. You can cut the distance by half  if you walk and cut across the waste gound to the main road.  There is a slightly bigger shopping centre   (centro comercial faro 2 ) 2.5 km away ( 1.7 km /  1 mile by foot ) There is a large Mercadona (4.1 km ) and a Lidl supermarket (4.8 km Playa del Ingles ) in the town. Ask the resort reception for directions.

The town is basically just the walk along the sea front, which is very pleasent. You get to it the same way you get to the nude beach, when you get to the sea turn right towards the light house. There is not much in the way of shops. There are the usual gift shops, places to eat, bars and some retail shop.  There is a casino hotel, a  light house ( you can not access ) Parque Tony Gallardo ( similar to a botanical, you will pass this on your way to the nude beach/ town ) and a beach but not much else. Everything else is hotels or resorts. There are 2 golf coures. One is at the far end of the town ( 5.6 km ) and the other is 1.3 km which is more or less on the same road as the resort.

At the main roundabout, the one you passed on arrival to the resort , 2.1 km ( 1.1 km by foot ) there is a botanical gardens. If you turn left, a further 800 m, there is holiday world. There you will find wooland amusment park, 10 pin bowling, a gym, an escape room, karaoke, bars and restaurants and a casino. If you turn right at the round about and go up the hill ( where you will get a veiw of the resort ) you come to Playa del Ingles. This seems to be more lively than Maspalomas. There is a large car park on the sea front but it is walkable from the resort. You can get there via the nude  beach but it is further and harder going as you are walking on sand but  it is a pleasent walk.

Further afield is Aqualand Maspalomas Water Park ( 6km). There are many more things to do and see and they are all with in 1 hours drive as the island is only about 60 km ( 37 miles ) in length.

I found the Magnolias Natura to be very pleasant. If all you wish to do is sleep, eat and sunbathe at the resort then it is fine but if you want entertainment you will have to go off site.  With Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles being walkable you will not need a car, the resort do airport transfers ( for a fee ) But to explore the island, even though there are plenty of buses it is best to hire a car.

I would reconmend the resort for couple looking for a more sedate holiday. It's fine for singles but interaction with guests may be limited. Not for families as it is adult only.
